Preamble On
this day forward November 4th, 2003 we,
Chokonende, of the Chiricahua Nation, implore the Creator, having humbly
beseech His blessings, Who from time immemorial established for us a
perfect foundation, in which Chokonende has dwelt in times past, and
having been scattered to and fro, come now and partake in the perfect
foundation and establish for Chokonende a new way, a new path, with the
desires of peace and tranquility and beauty, in this land of our
foremothers. We, therefore,
as an Earthly sovereignty call upon the Creator to institute His ways,
His wisdom, His knowledge, His strength, His peace, His path and His
blessings upon Chokonende, to bring them back from the lands afar and
create our inherent sovereign government afforded to Chokonende by the
Creator and people of the United States and people of the world.
That the water, vegetation, game, minerals, along with the air
and sky above, lands above and deep below and all its sides, and all
other natural resources all within our boundaries be granted
steward to the Chokonende. For
We have had a long and tiresome journey and have acknowledged our past
times with full repentance, do now structure and establish our inherent
and traditional government in the eyes of the Creator and all man and
the government of the United States and all governments of people in all
places and in all peace. Come now Chokonende and humbly walk into the lands of your
foremothers knowing that We are only but caretakers of this perfect
foundation the Creator has Bestowed upon Chokonende. We now come to
establish and ordain this Constitution of the Chokonende of the
Chiricahua Nation of Arizona.
